Hurricane Elsa, the first hurricane of the 2021 Atlantic season, was moving through the Carribean on Friday and could reach Florida early next week.
The storm formed on Thursday and strengthened into a Category 1 hurricane on Friday, with sustained winds of 85 miles per hour. Rainfall of up to 15 inches was forecast for parts of the Caribbean.
