Thursday in Portland felt like more than the end of a playoff series. It felt like the end of an era.
Even the Trail Blazers players sensed major changes are on the horizon after a depleted Denver roster dispatched Portland from the first round in six games, the final blow a 126-115 loss in which Portland couldn’t hold a 14-point lead late in the third quarter.
“We didn’t win a championship, so obviously where we are now isn’t good enough,” franchise star Damian Lillard said. “I don’t know what a shakeup looks like, or what changes will be made or could be made, but obviously as it is wasn’t good enough.
