Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez rips Trump: 'These motherf—ers are only paying $750 a year'

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez launched a profane rant against President Trump and Republicans during a series of new interviews published Wednesday.

The New York Democrat made the comments to Vanity Fair soon after The New York Times reported Mr. Trump paid just $750 in federal income taxes the year he ran for president and in his first year in the White House. Mr. Trump has called the report a “total fake.”

“These are the same people saying that we can’t have tuition-free public colleges because there’s no money,” Ms. Ocasio-Cortez said, “when these motherf–ers are only paying $750 a year in taxes.”

“This is not about a decision between two candidates,” Ms. Ocasio-Cortez said of next week’s general election. “It’s about a decision between two countries.”

But the U.S. is “still in a lot of trouble” if Democratic presidential nominee Joseph R. Biden wins and doesn’t drastically improve people’s lives, she said.

“We’re done” if that happens, she added. “You know how many Trumps there are in waiting?”

Ms. Ocasio-Cortez also slammed incremental change and “bulls—t little 10 percent tax cuts” proposed by Democrats.

“I think, honestly, a lot of my dissent within the Democratic party comes from my lived experience,” she said. “It’s not just that we can be better, it’s that we have to be better. We’re not good enough right now.”
