Way-too-early Playoff Picture: The West belongs to the field, once again


It’s the last week of July and we’ve had a tumultuous and tamperiffic NBA offseason. You know what that means! As we wait for August to come and go so we can get to the Team USA G Team, we can kill some time by looking at the potential playoff situations of both the East and the West.

For the Western Conference, Kawhi Leonard to the Los Angeles Clippers has everybody in their feelings, especially considering he found Paul George as a teammate on the way there. The Los Angeles Lakers have their dynamic duo with LeBron James and Anthony Davis. Teams like Denver and Portland will rely on successful ventures of last season along with continuity reigning supreme. Utah and Houston will work in big backcourt acquisitions. Golden State is putting itself back together, while San Antonio, Sacramento and maybe even Oklahoma City try to edge each other out for the final playoff spots. Teams like Minnesota, Dallas and New Orleans will try to find a new identity.
