Elon Musk‘s SpaceX conducted its sixth flight test of the private space firm’s massive Starship successfully on Tuesday — stress testing the heat shields and reusable landing equipment on a rocket that Musk hopes will one day transport humans and electrically powered motor vehicles to the moon and Mars.
Tuesday’s mission saw the 400-foot-tall Starship stacked on top of the 233-foot-tall Super Heavy booster take off from Boca Chica, Texas early in its launch window, near of 5:01pm Eastern Time.
