Who among us can say that they have never dreamt of owning their own castle?

Well, that dream could actually become a reality as an 800-year-old Swiss chateau has gone on sale. The only catch – you’ll need to stump up £27.5million to afford it.

Yes, it’s pricey, but the luxurious property comes with its fair share of perks.

On the grounds, you’ll find your own vineyard, a Turkish bath and a private spa.

The 800-year-old property – called Château Le Rosey – would be the perfect holiday home or permanent spot for a buyer keen on a place with a unique history.

Overlooking the village of Bursins, midway between Geneva and Lausanne, the chateau offers incredible views of Mont Blanc and Lake Léman.

Inside, there are 10 bedrooms and eight bathrooms across the huge space of 2,656 sq m, including a dining room equipped to seat 60 guests.

The room is decorated with impressive features, including a beautiful Gothic fireplace and antique terracotta floors.

You’ll also be able to serve up your own wine to visitors as the estate has 4.5 hectares of vineyards, and of course, a pebble-paved cellar for tasting sessions.

The wine-making business is well established as in 2018, the Château Le Rosey’s Garanoir, Garanoir Barrique & Gamaret Barrique received the coveted designation of 1er Grand Cru.

For those who prefer something non-alcoholic, there is also a freshwater spring in one of the three courtyards, offering clean water that can be enjoyed still or be lightly carbonated via the professional kitchen.

Elsewhere, the chateau offers plenty of space to relax as there is a private spa with a Turkish bath, swimming pool, rest beds and massage tables.

‘Château Le Rosey’s extensive history and numerous achievements and accolades speak for themselves as a one-of-a-kind business opportunity,’ says sellers Concierge Auctions.

The auction will take place on 7 October at 4pm.
