The 76ers’ Joel Embiid limped to the locker room after hyperextending his knee after dunking in the third quarter against the Washington Wizards on Friday. It was Embiid’s first game back since the All-Star Break.
The 26-year-old fell to the floor after his dunk, grimacing in pain and grabbing his left knee. He walked to the locker room under his own power. Philadelphia was up 80-60 when Embiid left the game, and Dwight Howard came in for Embiid.
The center had tallied 23 points, seven rebounds and three assists against the Wizards before leaving.
This is a developing story. More to come.
