A total of 62 horses are entered for the six races on Friday, Oct. 4, for first of seven all-turf cards the Meadowlands Racetrack will host as the Thoroughbred racing schedule in New Jersey shifts to a two-venue format for the month of October.
Monmouth Park will continue to race on Sundays only throughout October, concluding its 61-day meet on Oct. 27.
The Meadowlands will offer all-turf cards on Fridays and Saturdays throughout October, with the exception of Saturday, Oct. 19, when the 99th steeplechase meeting takes place at Far Hills in Somerset County.
First race post time at the Meadowlands on Fridays and Saturday will be 12:30 p.m. Sunday post time at Monmouth Park will be 1:15 p.m.
An optional allowance for New Jersey-breds at five furlongs on the grass with a purse of $43,750 highlights the opening card at the Meadowlands, with a field of nine entered.
Horizontal wagering for the Meadowlands cards will include rolling Daily Doubles, four Pick 3s, a Pick 4 starting in the third race, a Pick 5 starting in the second race and a 20-cent Jersey Pick 6 starting in race one.
