51-year-old woman swears by rubbing a common vegetable on face to look '20 years younger'

With a plethora of anti-ageing products and methodologies being announced daily, it’s hard for beauty lovers to keep up with the latest trends, tricks and hacks without guaranteeing they will work.

However, there has been a new surge of older women taking to social media to share their best tips on how to look younger without using ‘useless’ skin-care products.

A 51-year-old woman took to TikTok to reveal her natural remedy to look 20 years younger. The creator, Wellness Wisdom, swears by rubbing a bizarre food item on her face – and it’s not garlic.

Sharing a series of photos with captions, the woman claimed: “No one believes me when I tell them I’m 51 years old…This is the routine I follow to look 20 years younger.”

On her second slide, the woman stated that she uses raw potato peels on her face to give her a youthful look. She stated: “Rub raw potato peel on your face three to four times a week.

“It contains retinol, which helps eliminate acne scars and blackheads.” According to experts at Healthline, a potato face mask can potentially reduce signs of ageing and increase glowy skin whilst decreasing the appearance of hyperpigmentation.

However, they warn that “most of these effects are anecdotal. This means they are based on user reviews and not clinical evidence.”

The 51-year-old continued to share other tricks to look younger such as cold water facials, drinking chia water and fenugreek tea, washing your face with aloe vera water and taking probiotics.

She revealed: “Cold water facials every morning for three minutes help eliminate wrinkles, dark circles, oily skin and leave your skin very smooth. Drink chia water every night, it helps you burn belly fat and leaves your waist slim and your tummy flat naturally.

“Fenugreek tea boosts your estrogen. This increases the size of your breasts and keeps them firm, I went up a cup size in one month.”

The creator continued sharing how to achieve the perfect skin and added: “Washing your face with aloe vera water in the morning. This softens your skin and eliminates oily and rough skin. Probiotics will clear up your skin, prevent bloating and improve your gut health.”

The video has accumulated over 92,000 likes and nearly 6,000 comments. One intrigued user asked: “Does anyone know how to do this ‘Rub potato peel on face’? Do you rinse after and then put on skin care products? Do you do this in the am or pm?”

To which someone replied: “Potato, the inside not the peel. After it dries, you can rinse then apply your regular skin care products and it can be done anytime.”

Another helpful user shared: “Chia seeds at night. I’ve seen people say drink in the morning on an empty stomach. Which do we do?” Someone else said: “I have been taking Fenugreek for two months now wowwwwww all I can say is thank you Jesus.”

But some unimpressed viewers commented: “I’m also nearly 51 and I swear by coconut oil that’s all I use every night” and “I’m 51, I don’t use any of this.”
