2023 NFL Pro Bowl Games: AFC takes lead behind Derek Carr’s stellar showing Thursday



The AFC took a 9-3 lead in the 2023 NFL Pro Bowl Games after winning the precision passing, lightning round and longest drive events. Here’s what you need to know:

  • The NFC picked up three points by winning the dodgeball event.
  • Derek Carr put on a show in the precision passing competition, leading all QBs with 31 points.
  • The Pro Bowl will continue Sunday with five more events and a flag football game.

Backstory

The Pro Bowl is no longer a tackle football game. It is now comprised of eight skill events and challenges plus the flag football game. The final day of competition will be broadcast Sunday from 3 p.m. ET to 6 p.m. ET on ESPN and ABC.

Longest Drive results

Bills safety Jordan Poyer won the event for the AFC by hitting a golf ball 320 yards. He was the final competitor in the event and bested Vikings tight end T.J. Hockenson’s drive of 316 yards.

Lighting Round winners

Bengals defensive end Trey Hendrickson partnered with Browns guard Joel Bitonio to win this challenge and dump confetti all over NFC coach Eli Manning. The AFC pair beat Cowboys center Tyler Biadasz and Saints DE Cameron Jordan.

NFC dominates dodgeball 

The AFC defense faced the NFC offense in the final dodgeball game of the night, and the NFC finally got on the scoreboard with a win in this event.
