This week, the stars of the PGA Tour are in Detroit for the 2020 Rocket Mortgage Classic at Detroit Golf Club. Here’s everything you need to know about the tournament, including tee times for the first and second rounds.
Rocket Mortgage Classic preview
This week represents only the second edition of the Rocket Mortgage Classic. Last year in the inaugural event, alternate Nate Lashley made the most of his opportunity by going 25 under to capture his first PGA Tour victory.
Lashley will begin his title defense by playing the first two rounds alongside two proven PGA Tour winners: Webb Simpson and Rickie Fowler. Simpson, who won the RBC Heritage two weeks ago, is back in action after a coronavirus scare forced him to withdraw from the Travelers Championship (Dylan Fritelli and Harris English both withdrew from the Rocket Mortgage Classic after testing positive for Covid-19.)
They’ll be battling it out all week with two Tour players who draw a load of attention: 2018 Masters champion Patrick Reed and Bryson DeChambeau. Reed and DeChambeau are paired together for the first two days at Detroit Golf Club, along with Hideki Matusyama
