2020 NFL Mock Draft: Big board projections offer Redskins several helpful routes


Consider NFL mock drafts five months before the clock officially starts more fiction (and fun) than fact.

Based on this disheartening season for the Washington Redskins and the reality that their list of needs is longer than the new Martin Scorsese movie, let’s live a little.

For real, though, do not put much stock into way, way too early projections when it comes to specific team-player marriages. The order won’t be set for weeks. We won’t know the final player pool until around Jan. 24 when the league sends the official list of underclassmen to teams. My 2019 first-round mock draft projection one year ago included 2020 targets Justin Herbert and Derrick Brown before they chose college over cash. 

Yet we’re aware of Washington’s issues heading toward 2020, and the list of draft declaration surprises among notable players likely matches the Redskins’ paltry win total. Also, the college football regular season is winding…
